Youth Ambassadors 2026 – Leadership & Social Mobilization: Applications Open for High School Students with a $200 Scholarship

If you are a High School student living in North Carolina and want to lead actions that improve health access in your community, this program is for you. It consists of 8 months of training, with two sessions per month (one online lab and one monthly practical action), plus an in-person seminar in Charlotte in March, with all costs covered by EMBRACE.


Openings

  • A total of 18 openings for Cohort II


Period and Timeline

  • Applications: May 26 – June 30, 2026

  • Results by email: no later than July 10, 2026

  • Program start: July 13 2026 – Program end: May 2027

  • In-person seminar: March 2027, in Charlotte (costs covered)


Who Can Apply

  • Students in 9th–12th grade (ages 14–18) living/studying in the mentioned regions

  • Interest in public health, social mobilization, AI tools, communication, and leadership

  • Parent/guardian authorization (for minors)


How to Apply

  1. Complete the application form before June 30th 2026: Youth Health Access & Social Mobilization Ambassador II

  2. Wait for the result by email



What You Will Learn and Do

  • Fundamentals of public health and social determinants of health

  • Entrepreneurship and leadership skills

  • How to use AI systems and technologies

  • Leadership for non-profit settings, group facilitation, and community action organizing

  • Planning and executing campaigns and events with partners


Benefits Upon Completion

  • $200 financial incentive

  • A laptop

  • Certificate of completion and EMBRACE Ambassador in Health Access

  • Official statement of volunteer service hours for High School and résumé

  • Recommendation letter signed by the Executive Director

  • Additional scholarship: one ambassador will receive $1,000 to support college application and related expenses
